Tuckaseegee River

The scenic Tuckasegee River, the heartbeat of the regional landscape, winds along the southern border of the community providing immediate access to kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and fly-fishing. Of course, simply sitting back and watching the river flow by is a popular past-time as well. A premier trout river, the Tuckasegee is included in the Western Carolina Fly-Fishing Trail.

Grand River Lodge

While the Tuckasegee River is the heart of the land, the Grand River Lodge will be the heart of the community. The Lodge Restaurant will provide casual and fine dining with river-view indoor and outdoor dining. The upper level will contain 10 lodge suites available for overnight lodging, and the lower level will feature event space, fitness center, locker rooms, and spa treatment area. The Grand River Lodge will also include a hillside swimming pool and Har-Tru tennis courts. The lodge opening is projected for late 2019.

River Pavillion

The River Pavilion is an open-air riverside oasis and gathering space set in a 2-acre River Park. Residents and guests can savor their morning coffee in the pavilion rocking chairs and relax in the late afternoon with soothing river sounds and favorite wine. The Riverside Fire Pit is the perfect spot to gather with neighbors and friends at the water’s edge. The Pavilion may be reserved by residents for private events on a limited basis.

Boathouse &
Boat Launch Deck

Paddle sports enthusiasts can store and launch kayaks, canose, or from the riverside Boathouse and Launch Deck. Boat racks are rented through the  Community Association on a first come, first served basis. The boathouse will also house the River Park restrooms.

Trail System

A network of private hiking and mountain biking trails will thread through the community’s open space that covers 60% of the Cullowhee River Club land area. These lands will be placed in a conservation easement in the future to perpetually protect the open space resource. The planned Jackson County Greenway Trail System, when completed, will traverse the community.
